Our Mission
The purpose of the CCIM San Diego Mentorship Program is to provide opportunities for our seasoned professional members to share their stories and guide university students in their professional development in the arena of Commercial Investment Real Estate brokerage, consulting and counseling and to encourage them to pursue their CCIM Designation.
Who Should Participate?
The goal of this program is to match our seasoned practitioners within CCIM San Diego with local university students who have a strong interest in developing a career path in commercial real estate and are committed in their professional pursuits. The program is designed to benefit university students who are committed to becoming the next generation of leading real estate professionals.

Commitment Required
- Mentors must have the CCIM designation or be a current Institute Candidate and current CCIM San Diego chapter membership
- Attend meetings and meet commitments with Mentors
- Minimum required hours – budget a few hours/month to meet and regularly communicate with Mentees
- Create a plan with Mentees that responds to their professional and career goals
- Skillset development
- Career guidance
- Expose Mentees to the industry: site visits, deal developments, decision processes, etc.
- Adhere to CCIM Guidelines for conduct and confidentiality

Commitment Required
- Student Members of the CCIM San Diego Chapter
- Students majoring in Real Estate or Finance in a San Diego university
- Attend meetings and meet commitments with Mentors
- Minimum required hours – budget a few hours/month to meet and regularly communicate with Mentors.

Program Structure & Schedule
Mentorship Teams
Membership Teams are formed and follow the academic calendar year. Each Mentorship Team is generally composed of 1-3 Mentors and 2-6 Mentees.
- Mentees are divided into groups by interest
- Mentors and group assignments will be officially introduced by the program organizer
- Mentors will lead group activities/meetings/site visits, primarily meeting virtually over phone, video chat, or a virtual meeting platform.
